Alpha Pro connects to Kraken through a trade-only API key, created in your dedicated Kraken account (Kraken has no sub-accounts — guide: Create your trading subaccount).
WARNING: Never enable Withdrawal permissions on your API key. Alpha Pro only ever needs to read and trade — nothing else.
Step 1 — Create the key
- In your dedicated account, open Kraken's Settings → API page and click Create API key.
- Fill out the form:
- API Key Name — e.g. "Alpha Pro".
- Funds permissions → enable Query only.
- Orders and trades → enable Query open orders & trades, Query closed orders & trades, Create & modify orders, Cancel & close orders.
- Data → enable Query ledger entries only.
- Enable WebSocket interface.

- Click Generate Key and complete the verification.
- Copy your API Key and Private key before leaving the screen.

Step 2 — Add the IP whitelist
- In the API list, find your new key and click the 3 dots icon to edit.

- Select IP restriction and paste the addresses below, then Submit.

In the IP restriction section, add these addresses — comma-separated, without spaces:
35.208.74.51,35.223.192.192,34.66.216.238,34.124.198.188,34.44.217.135
Note: these IPs authorize Alpha Pro to trade on your behalf while blocking anyone else — and an IP-bound key never expires.
What's next
With your key created, return to the setup guide and enter it in the Sequence wizard: How to get started and set up Alpha Pro.
